A thoughtful rhythm for unfamiliar screens

You can close a page, leave a message unanswered and check through a familiar channel. A pause is a useful digital skill.

Notice

Read the whole message. Find out what is being requested before touching a button.

Understand

Work out what may change: a file, a setting, a payment or access to information.

Act and check

Take the smallest useful step, then confirm that the result matches your intention.

Before your first practice

Choose a device you already have and a quiet place to work. Prepare a practice file with no sensitive information. Write down one outcome you want to achieve. If a button looks different on your screen, read its purpose rather than choosing the closest-looking symbol.

Stop at a step you do not understand. Repeat the explanation or write a specific question describing what appeared on screen. Keep passwords and authentication codes private, and avoid using important files for your first experiments.
